The truth of the story is stranger than fiction. In the movie its depicted that they were attacked by a massive platoon or larger sized force and they took out tons of them. This didnt happen. it was a squad sized element of around 7 militia that ambushed them.

Marcus stopped taking the calls of gulab. You have to understand this is a man who cant speak english and is alone in a country he has never been in. He was completely abandoned by the man whose life he saved for simply telling the truth in an interview.

You see. During actual peer conflicts , soldiers are different , posture is different , everything is different. There is no such thing as a supersoldier when the enemy has accurate artillery and aircraft. Our military has not fought a real military since korea

So when buck private rifleman come back from the sandbox and see shit like kris kyle (another fraud btw) they think "i have no power" I also think this might be one of the reasons for lots of sucidies because hollywood is catering to operators and not grunts.

Keep in mind the most insane urban battle in modern history still doesnt have a movie made about it (battle of fallujah) because the people kicking down doors were 18 year old privates who signed up because of 9/11. But they do have a movie about chris kyle saving them all.
