So, DH2 has only two autosave slots, one quicksave slot and only a hanful of manual save slots.
With how paranoid I am about nonlethal and accidentally killing someone (I'm checking stats alarmingly often) this is proving to be a bigger annoyance than I anticipated.
Anyone got an idea what could be the reason behind so few slots?
Oh, here is a fun part - checking often is not enough. If you checked that everything is fine, then saved, and then reloaded this save, someone may die (not sure why, but probably because of physics; I've seen some weird shit happening with physics-related objects after the reload, like bottles randomly flying, canisters randomy exploding, dangling radio-thingies swinging like crazy on the wires, etc.).
Killed my "clean hands" run this way (by saving in a 100% safe location after checking the stats). And I used one save slot on that mission because all the other slots for that playthrough were allocated for some other stuff I didn't want to delete (decisions before picking powers etc.).
Once I reloaded a save and I was in a wall of light... I saved on top of a boom boom watchtower and I can confirm that is not a wall of light
I've made a new save once or twice on every mission, and I haven't encountered a limit. What is the limit on manual saves?
I just ran into this, too. I was thinking of keeping three saves per level since there's a lot of stuff to miss, different playstyles and multiple choices but I simply can't. This is exactly the kind of game that should allow a high number of saves. This is kind of a bullshit feature.
I just can't explain the feelings I get when playing, it is a real escape for me.. Who can relate?
Just finished 2 again after playing 1 to understand the twists and story better, and it seems i've forgotten how absolutely magnificent a lot of the game's mechanics are. Of 1 and 2, i had one specific mechanic that i absolutely loved and was astonished by. The timepiece. It's such an amazing concept that was beautifully done, and it really shows how perfect and gorgeous the level and environmental design is. The fact that the game lets you tackle the situations you're in by travelling back and forth through time is amazing (especially if you're doing ghost). I really can't praise Arkane enough for their fantastic work. I haven't played DoTO yet, so maybe i'll find something even better there, but out of 1 & 2, this was my absolute favourite.
What's everyone's favourite? I really wanna hear opinions and see how much is appreciated by you beautiful people.
