So after going through more models, I found that some Pokemon do have changes, though most are minor at best. Most of the changes are like Arcanine's where a couple redundant verts were removed. A few of the changes are like Machamp's where subdivision was applied to the mouth.

Number15Tails (#Sora4Smash)

Noibat is so far the only Pokemon I've seen with a major edit, having its whole face remodeled. It's nice to see that at least some models were edited, even if most are totally inconsequential. I'll add more to this thread if I find any other Pokemon with major edits like this,

I mean new models would be nothing but a waste of time as long as the gameplay doesn't require anything more from them.

It's fine there will be a day 1 patch that'll make all models completely different you'll see, GF would never lie about having to make models from scratch.

No, there was an interview where the developers claimed they had to remake the models from scratch. People tried to use that as understandable reasons for the cut dex, but now there’s proof they lied. I was hoping things would chill before it’s release...smh

Cool now do all the texture maps and not just the wire frames, ya know, the second half to all models and the part that GF actually work on.

Bullshit lmao. I know the game's been leaked but they had made it clear these models are new and I find it difficult that you've managed to rip them this early. And even then, these models look way better than sun and moon varientes

Also note, this doesn't mean it was easy. A lot of balancing has to be done for these select Pokemon, not to mention the new shaders they used (or whatever makes them look so HD) and that the dex is bloated at this point. P.S. have you checked this for EVERY model?

I did not check Noibat. I only checked like 30 random Pokemon since it takes me about 10 minutes each Pokemon to dump the models from the games. Do you have any other examples? I'll add them to the main thread.

Game Freak sees the new games only as a vehicle to drive the sales of their real business, merchandise. The games are only there to introduce new Pokémon for people to buy stuffed animals of.

They're using the same model? Man that ruins the whole game for me, I can't believe they're using the same models. Nah but it all seriousness, the dex cut isn't as bad, and this is just nitpicky as hell?? Can't wait for the games to come out tomorrow

Not the point, they claimed the Dex was cut *because* they were making new models, even though all the footage we had at the time said otherwise, and so does the datamining. The old models are fine, the lie isn’t
