Is it normal for an INFP and an INTJ to not do well in work projects together? by SmityWJagermanJensen in intj

[–]Jaevelklein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's just you. That's something I say from personal experience. I'm as good as never satisfied with something that doesn't satisfy with my grand vision of how something could and should be. There are times I reluctantly go along with it anyway (if it's something small that doesn't matter, and I'd obviously just be seen as a jerk/disruptive element if I speak up). But when and if a work project matters, I crave it kind of according to my own vision, which is why I prefer to work alone.

That's why I also think it's the same for your brother, and you shouldn't take it personally. On the other hand, you are half of the work project. It's not just him, it's him and you. That's why your input matters even if he personally doesn't agree with it. Of course that doesn't mean you can sway it 100-0 in your favor either, but since it's a work project, you should try to balance it 50-50. Make that clear to him, that you don't necessarily agree with everything he wants for the project either, but you acknowledge him as part of the work project, and wish he would do the same for you.

When you stuck at 1.3k MMR in guardian bracket and shit like this happens by WolfyGoofy in DotA2

[–]Jaevelklein 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tbh, if you aren't good enough to leave 1k bracket, then you should probably stay there. I know you don't play a lot, but my point still remains. You shouldn't think about grinding one game at a time, trying to go from like 1.3k to 1.4k to 1.5k to 1.6k etc. There's NO difference at all between the players in this MMr range.

Even when you go to 2k you will see that the games are still the same as they are in 1.3k. When you truly understand Dota, you won't get to 2k or 3k, no, you will easily get to 4k+. Once you understand the game as well as a 4k MMr player or above does, you will easily get out of 1k MMr whenever you want to. The fact that you don't isn't because of the smurf, nor is it because of your lack of time to play the game. It's because you don't understand the game.

Even if you manage to grind your way to 2k MMr, that wouldn't mean shit if your conceptual understanding of the game doesn't improve. You may have a higher MMr, but you are still the same old you. Your MMr only exists to validate your E-peen. The moment your conceptual understanding of the game actually improves, you're not going to grind to 2k or to 3k, you're going to easily grind to 4k+. So now that you're stuck in 1k MMr, I'd say it's best for you to either stay there and enjoy the game as it is, or try to study dota 2 the same way you study rocket science, and enjoy the intellectual side of the game by understanding the different concepts of it. On paper both the typical 1k MMr player and the typical 4k MMr players play DotA, but in reality they play completely different games, because they view the game differently. And unless you are willing to put time into changing your entire mindset about the game, you should just be content playing in the 1-2k MMr bracket. Going from 1.3k to 1.1k or from 1.3k to 2.0k doesn't mean anything.

What do you think of Necro books removal? by SinofTruth11 in DotA2

[–]Jaevelklein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it should scale based on the caster's intelligence. For example, minimum intelligence necessary to use it: 30. Then for every 5 int above that, i.e 35 int, 40 int, 45, the necromonicon creeps become stronger. Max int may be 60 or something like that to prevent endless scaling.

TIL: Kakka doesn't seem to be an official Swedish word. When I looked into it, it seems to be a word borrowed from Finnish "kakki" but used actively in some Swedish-speaking parts of Finland (just like Sweden also have different regional words). "Jag kakkar, jag kakkade, jag har kakkat" etc. Especially common as a slang when talking to kindergarteners. But as pointed out, it doesn't seem to be listed in any official vocabulary though. It does, however, seem used by some Swedes as well, but to which degree Idk. For example Jag har "kakkat" i blöjan - Sök på Google

Then it would be great if they could tell what they want to play. Picking later in the picking phase comes with the price of having to adjust to allied and enemy picks. A lane with lets say Grimstroke (4) and Dawnbreaker/Mars (3) would be completely different from a Grimstroke (4) with lets say a Windranger/Enigma (3). Both in terms of what your team does, but also in terms of the pressure you can apply on the enemy. Since I, as Grimstroke, first pick position 4/5, it's my carry's/offlaner's responsibility to pick a hero that synergizes with me. If not, my pos 1/3 should either a suggest a hero he wants me to pick before I pick it, or mark his hero early-on so I know what to pick around. Some position 3 and 1 players have the misconception that the support exists to support them no matter what they pick or do, but that's not the case. There's no easier way to tilt your support than to pick/do something that makes them into a creep and completely ruin their lane/game. No support wants to play the kind of game where they are level 8 minute 20 and just watch their carry afk hit creeps until they can 1v9.

[–]Jaevelklein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. The games I win, I play my ass off to win. The games I lose on the other hand, are mostly lost in the draft phase or due to the ignorance of my position 1 (or occasionally pos 3). OBS: This isn't related just to patch 7.29 but 7.28 as well.

When I pick a pos 4/5 that doesn't want to fight, like Enigma, my carry picks Ursa with 44 base damage and starts with orb of venom and no quelling blade, missing every CS. When I pick a hero like Visage pos 4/5 that wants to fight early with build-up nukes (W), my carry picks a hero like PL/Riki and only hits creeps, rendering me a creep. When I pick Wisp pos 4, my offlaner marks Slardar and then suddenly changes it into something stupid like Lycan 3. Worst part is: I'm literally telling them the strat in the picking phase every time. I.e: "Pick a hero that wants to fight, I will start with basil" or "Which hero do you want me to pick form X, Y and Z" to see what they are comfortable playing with. But they never listen nor do they ever suggest anything. They just blindly pick the stupidest shit every time.

I really don't know what's wrong with these pos 1 players (and occasionally pos 3 players). They pick whatever hero they feel like playing instead of what's 1) good against the enemy 2 heroes and 2) good with me whom they are laning with. They don't strategize at all. These positions 1 players just ruin so many of my games with their ignorance. And when they do pick a decent hero with me, lets say Alchemist pos 1, their skill build is just horrible. Even in lanes we're stronger, they either go 3-0-2 or 2-0-3 on alch, putting more than 1 point in Greevil's greed, which scales from 18/21 (+3 gold) in 7.28 and 15/18 (+3) in 7.29. That's +30 gold for every 10 cs, +60 for every 20 cs and +90 for every 30 cs. They rather choose that than putting a value point in stun and running over the enemy with acid spray, with which they can get 1-2 kills and shut down the enemy pos 3/4. Or when I play against Alchemist, I'm getting a pos 3 LC that goes brown boots orb of corrosion instead of just plain orb of venom and phase boots for armor vs acid spray. The players I'm getting can't draft proper heroes, can't skill-build correctly nor can they itemize correctly. AND THEY ARE FUCKING 6K MMR. I really don't know what's wrong with these people.
