Save/Load[1] is a feature in Saints Row, Saints Row 2, Saints Row: The Third, and Saints Row IV

Saints Row Church Save Point

A Save Point is a floating icon in Saints Row.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Saving and Loading can be done at any time using the menu.

Save points are located inside Cribs, the Saints Row Church, and at the location of each former enemy Stronghold which has been taken over.

Saving[edit | edit source]

Saving a game in Saints Row can either be done using an in-world Save Point icon, or using the menu.

In subsequent games in the Saints Row series, and game-saving is performed only through the menu.

In Saints Row 2, the game is auto-saved after completing missions and activities.

In Saints Row: Third and Saints Row IV the game is auto-saved more frequently, including after using Stores.

Loading[edit | edit source]

When loading a saved game, Playa spawns at the Save Point last used. If saved via the pause menu, Playa spawns at the closest Save Point to where the game was saved.

In Saints Row 2 and Saints Row: The Third, when a saved game is loaded, Playa spawns inside the nearest Crib.

In Saints Row IV, if the game is saved while in Virtual Steelport, Playa spawns at the nearest Gateway. If the game is saved while on The Ship, Playa spawns there.

In Saints Row: Gat out of Hell, when the game is loaded, Playa spawns inside the Ultor HQ.

Autosave[edit | edit source]

Saints Row 2 Autosave tutorial.png

There is no autosave in Saints Row.

In Saints Row 2, the game is automatically saved into the autosave slot after the completion of any mission or activity.

In Saints Row: The Third, Saints Row IV, and Saints Row IV: Gat out of Hell, the game autosaves much more frequently, such as after using Stores.

Using Cheats disables Autosave in all games. In Saints Row 2 on PS3, using promotional vehicle codes marks the save file as "Cheats Enabled", but does not disable autosaving.

Slots[edit | edit source]

In Saints Row, there are 24 save slots per storage device, with no autosave.[2]

In Saints Row 2, there are 23 save slots per storage device, with 1 autosave slot.[3]

In Saints Row: The Third, there are 23 save slots per storage device, with 1 autosave slot.[3]

In Saints Row: The Third Remastered, there are 39 save slots per storage device, with 1 autosave slot.[4]

In Saints Row IV, there are 23 save slots per storage device, with 1 autosave slot.[5]

On Xbox 360, it is possible to change storage device and use USB sticks, allowing for 23 additional save slots per device, but this is not possible on PC, which is limited to only 23 save slots.

On Playstation 3, there is an additional option to press PS3 square.png to "Manage Save Data", which brings up the PS3 file manager and allows each save file to be deleted.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Before completing the first mission,[6] there is a Save Point in the Saints Row Church. When the game is saved and reloaded, Playa spawns at this Save Point, as it is the only one available.
