West Bolivar to Close Benoit’s Ray Brooks School

ROSEDALE, MS (Ben Caxton) — Citing the need to cut costs, the West Bolivar Consolidated School Board announced that it will be shuttering Benoit’s only school. Ray Brooks serves students from elementary through high school and the district says starting this fall those students will be bussed to schools in Rosedale or Shaw. Also closing will be the current high school building in Rosedale with 7th through 12th-grade students sharing space with classmates in the Rosedale Middle School. The moves will leave the three city district with just four operational school buildings for all area students.
