Asurion recruits CIO at AB

Casey Santos

Mobile device insurer and tech services giant Asurion has found its new chief information officer at AllianceBernstein.

Asurion officials on Tuesday said they have hired Casey Santos to lead their technology operations and report to COO Barry Vandevier. Santos comes to Asurion, which will late this year move into a new headquarters in the North Gulch, after nearly a year and a half at AB, where she had been a senior vice president leading business process innovation and automation work. Before that, she had been CIO at investment General Atlantic for more than five years.

“Casey is a proven tech leader and strategic thinker with a distinct ability to lead innovative, business-aligned organizations that support growth and operational effectiveness,” Vandevier said. “As CIO, Casey will leverage her skillset and experience to continue advancing our technology and innovation on a global scale while empowering our teams to provide a stellar experience.”

Santos — who early in her career worked on more than 20 Space Shuttle missions at NASA — replaces Daniel Curling, who early this year took the CIO job at rehabilitation equipment marketer National Seating & Mobility after two years at Asurion.

Asurion employs about 3,600 people in Nashville and has annual revenues of about $10.6 billion. It is owned by a private equity consortium that includes Madison Dearborn, Providence Equity, Berkshire Partners and Welsh Carson Anderson & Stowe.
