can anyone tell me what this is all about? i'm not doing anything differently than i have from all my other burns. i've wasted two discs now. had no errors when ripping it through dvdfab or encoding through rebuilder.

Does it recognize the disks when you put one in?

yes. nothing before i started the burn that predetermined there'd be any kind of issue. it got to 97% before i got the error.

i was going to, but after hitting "try again" it finished the last 3%. i hit "try again" a couple hours ago several times and either it didn't budge or it arrived at 97% by doing it over and over. i didn't notice what % it was at until after i'd given up. so, it finished, in working order. still a first time this has happened though and would like to know the cause if you have any ideas.

so it happened again and i believe it's a firmware issue. i don't remember the last time i updated firmware on a computer. the computer i'm doing this on is only a week old though. would you be able to tell me what firmware needs updating on an hp dv7-1170?

Are these files on your HDD?
There's something wrong with your files.

the files are my own rips. dvdfab and rebuilder give me no errors before putting this to imgburn. i still believe it's just a firmware issue.
