Tokio Marine HCC International, a member of Tokio Marine Group, has named Des Burke, formerly of Lloyd’s of London, as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO), under the direction of Thibaud Hervy, Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO), Specialty Lines division.
Joining from Lloyd’s, where he most recently served as Chief Technology Officer having previously held the role of Global CIO & Head of Change, Burke brings more than three decades of cross-sector experience in IT to Tokio Marine HCC.
In his new role, Burke will be tasked with delivering a clearer view of the company’s technology strategy and determining how IT will best support this expansion.
Tokio Marine HCC notes that it has an ambitious growth agenda over the next three to five years and, as the business develops, it will increasingly align the power of tech with its business needs, which is reflected in Burke’s appointment.
