I would much rather see this idea developed. The Japanese kimono belt has so many designs and concepts. I think it is an affirmation of human creativity that a fabric with that width of design is something that can stimulate creativity.

Just looking at that image I was impressed by the possibilities, the idea of a "model walking line", applying the design and image of the obi, is really wonderful and very widely applicable.

Hey, sorry for jumping in. I disagree w/ your argument that no evidence of disrespect for Japanese traditional....They admitted the model stepped on the “Japanese fabric”. It doesn’t matter if the fabric is “obi” or not, FABRIC is the essential part of our traditional culture.

Ordinary people do not step on beautiful clothes. Special care must be taken when using what looks like a folk costume. Many people have been hurt by advertising. I think your way of thinking is wrong.

Ok, let Valentino to make another one, featuring a Middle-Eastern lady stepping on long clothes which resemble hijabs, then make a statement showing their "respects" toward Islamic culture, if Valentino claims that they are respectful toward "different cultures"
