I just read through them. Of 3600 names
- I recognized one (Eric S Raymond)
- there are 5 woman coded names
- there is a noticeably elevated number of east European/ Russian names

I was going to do a word cloud but then realised it's just going to be the shadow of a Fedora. Urgh.

Talk about a hive of inactivity. Just went thru a random sample, it seems to be a list of largely inert git repos, some of very longstanding, the last/only recent act being to fork the rms repo...

Looking at the list of signatures, the conclusion is clear: the Russians support him
. Is anyone surprised?

Ok I misread this and was very confused but I see that it’s the *opposite* of the one I signed. Whew.
So, yeah. I’ve met RMS, generally like him, big advocate of FOSS, and the FSF should not have invited him back to the board and he really shouldn’t’ve accepted.

I have no idea why anyone would volunteer on a sinking ship when there are perfectly good lifeboats and other ships inviting people aboard. Let bad things sink to the bottom, build something better.

Is it even sinking? The FSF is some old boat that’s tied up to a dock somewhere and forgotten

I once arranged to have him come speak at Twitter on the recommendation / request of a Russian hacker friend who was visiting - RMS talk was basically formulating ranting about his quest - and then after I was horrified to hear him respond to some excited fans in the elevator

I signed the letter that opposed. Maybe they should rename the repo to avoid confusions.
