Diversity and hopefully help somewhat in protecting Minorities like me. Anyone is welcome to comment with their views but I must say that mine were formed by my special experience as an Indian Muslim ( a minority in India). 10/10

Monarchy because of their humility and championing social causes. Monarchy as a whole is bad but I see uses in it, uses that can be very lucrative. For this, I very much endorse an elective monarchy for a land like India, which will also reflect its cultural and ethnic 9/?

It is perhaps one of the stupidest systems of governance ever created. I hate the English monarchy with a passion because they were responsible for the ravaging of my own country during the colonial era but at the same time, I really like the Swedish 8/?

Also rather not easy to corrupt. Them not being elected also makes it difficult to corrupt since one can’t sneak in a king by sending one of your own men to contest the election. If one asks me what my general view on monarchy is, I’d say that 7/?

But in the end, became the reason for India’s worst fall in almost every sector. I do admit that part of me really likes the aesthetics of monarchy but my reasoning is mainly based on separation of powers. The monarch is not only an extra layer of security, they are 6/?

Considering how easy it is to subvert institutions in India like our courts, military etc. India is a prime example of how an unenlightened democracy can lead to dictatorship. We didn’t have safeguards and believed someone who promised us mountains of gold 5/?

A monarchy could do very well to retain stability, ensure rights and serve as a sort of unifying figure. One may ask why I want to give the monarch power. In my opinion, this is to reduce the power of the Prime minister and also add an extra layer of security 4/?

Power because truth be told, our prime minister has powers that pretty much resemble a monarchs. One may ask, what’s the point in this? I mainly want a constitutional monarchy to safeguard the rights of minorities. I’d advocate this with other measures as well, but 3/?

In the context of India, I sincerely believe that we need an elective monarchy. A council of monarchs representing different regions of India who elect a High King every once in a while to serve as the head of state of India. I’d also give the monarch a bit more 2/?

Since I’m seeing a lot of takes on monarchy recently, I’ll share my opinion. But before I do, I have to give a disclaimer that this view will be highly from an Indian standpoint, and as such, I may have a different opinion when talking on a different context 1/?
