YouTube might be dumb, but at least it doesn't use its own brand of dumb-sounding currency like "bits and pieces".

I mean people get those for free. I've met people streaming that only donated because they got bits. Mostly kids, but I think they're better than nothing. Also it's not like people don't still donate in real money.

YouTube's time has come, like MySpace and Geocities. It need to die and be replaced by something better that actually works.

Consider this, Pat: thanks to YouTube's incessant braindead fuckery, if you get deverified it'll be totally possible for people to impersonate you and deliberately damage your reputation, with no way of determining who the "real you" is.

They've got no serious competitors. Basically the only company I could see tackling them is Microsoft. No one else has the necessary server infrastructure, but they're probably just going to focus in mixer
