There are many good & reasonable people who believe in crypto's potential.

From the moment I learnt how it worked I was horrified, I knew it would result in a bloody arms race of compute power ever escalating.
The graphics cards companies have much to answer for, they have aided this ridiculous situation massively by producing mining cards!

I'd say that toxic masculinity is weaponized toxic masculinity, but Bitcoin is a special subculture for sure.

Though I have met a share of earnest dudes trying to explain to me that what is really wrong with the world is international trading fees, and also that the world's trees are being cut down for paper money, which they imagine is in large stacks, somewhere? I guess?

• the protocol
• the software
• the network
• the unit
• the industry
• the users
• the cheerleaders
Selling or not buying the unit because you don’t like the industry, users, or cheerleaders is undervaluing the protocol, software, and network.
