Designed to be fun, like games should be.

Race into a shootout with The Final Countdown blasting on your radio, action roll out of your car, music still playing in the background, blow up a dozen cop cars in an epic explosion with entertaining ragdolls everywhere. Help your noobly coop partner up off the ground and carry on =P

+ Perfect coop, see yourself in every cutscene
+ Unique and memorable locations, interesting city
+ Leveling system rewards nearly everything you do
+ Story & Characters, with proper pacing, and free pathing
+ Customize your character, vehicle, safehouse, gang, and more

- Nearly a decade old, and shows its age
- Bad PC port, you need mods to get it running properly

Practically any other game of this genre is a better buy, even though I got the complete edition on sale for 15 dollars.

Singleplayer ★★☆☆☆
Likes:
+ Movement between cover
+ Interesting stealth mechanics
+ Anywhere radio and customizable playlist

+- Vehicle surfing, but its rarely possible
+- Inworld GPS, but has to be updated manually
+- Slowmo toggle, cool looking, rarely ever useful
+- Weapon & Vehicle collection, but no customization or progression

Disikes:
- Awkward menu navigation
- Glitchy graphics and audio
- Insta-fail mission objectives
- uPlay / no steam achievements
- Cringeworthy writing and voice acting
- Reputation system punishes everything
- Boring city, even with gimmicky hacking
- Pointless limits/CDs. Hacking batteries & slowmo focus bars
- Awful controls, doesn't work with a keyboard/mouse or controller
- Ubisoft Standard Graphics; Look amazing in an E3 trailer, look bland at release.
- Parkour is very limited, just hopping over boxes, its a bad replacement for jumping

Multiplayer ★☆☆☆☆
Annoying inturuptions in gameplay. 1v1 bouts of Cat vs Mouse. Unwinnable for the Cat. Populated by cheaters to make it even worse. At least you can turn them off.

+ Do you enjoy unfair/unbalanced/unskilled open PvP trolling? Then Rust is for you.
- Do you want to survive, hunt, gather, craft, build, socialize, coop with friends, or do anything other than shootup a CoD simulator? Look elsewhere.

- Awful performance and stability. Can't maintain 60 FPS on a 970. Buggy, Glitchy, Freezy, Crashy; "early access" for ~3 years, that term is just an excuse to sell you a scamtastically low quality product, and it will remain that way forever.

If you want a survival game, play Ark. If you want a PvPFPS game, play BF4. Rust sits somwhere in between, and has no point.

Intuitive city building, appealing graphics, but only ~8 hours of progression. Perhaps more offered in mods, for achievements, or if you enjoy restarting for the sake of restarting.

+ Balancing the 3 building zones works well as progression
+ AI handles most of the building. Making your cities look good, and have intuitive progress, based on zones you layout.

+- ~8 hours of content
+- Traffic management
+- Nice styleized graphics, poor performance
+- Spend most of the game looking at the world in color mode
+- First tier cities have a ton of visual variety, 2nd tier are all nearly identical
+- Road upgrade tool exists, but its a seperate button, instead of simply allowing you to build better roads over old ones.

- Grating music
- Needs an Undo button
- Some maps don't have all resource types available
- Rorganizing your city is possible, but at a huge cost
- Some buildings are too big to fit in properly sized zones
- Can't move buildings that aren't "empty". Dumps and cemetaries
- Upgrading from small to medium roads screws up the zone sizes
- The 2nd tier of zones are more of a replacement than a new resource
- Snap distance/alignment on roads and pipes isn't quite right. Roads need to be moved 2 ticks past their highlighted snap point to properly fill a zone
- Water pipes don't show pollution. Almost wiped out my entire city with a zombie plague because I had a rogue water tower in the industrial zone.

* Mods
* A tool to import maps from this game into games like Fallout 4 or GTAV would be cool. Or perhaps an entire game built around that concept.

Arma plays like it was made by people who have never made or played a videogame before. Mods make that issue even worse, but more interesting, but still not excusable. The fact that this has a positive review score is just sad for gaming.

Reasons to Buy:
+ Huge maps and unique modes

Reasons to Bail:
- Awful game feel and community

Pros/Cons:
+ Large maps
+ Unique and interesting mods
+ Look around, separate to your aim, by holding alt
+ You, for some reason, have the super power to zoom-in with your eyeballz
+ Graphics. Though, this is mostly due to a sharpness filter, nothing meaningful.

+- Can walk up any steepness of terrain, though a tiny hill will disable sprinting
+- Voice coms can be stupid toxic, or RP ridiculous, or occasionally actually useful
+- Gameplay is more about tactics than skill. Rarely is there a shootout. Whoever has better positioning, and spots an enemy first, will kill before they even know you exist.

- Global chat
- The core game itself is bad, only worth playing mods
- This game/series has the least intuitive interaction-UI ever
- Doors don't work unless you walk perfectly straight into them
- Can't jump, instead some really awkward vaulting, bound to V
- Arma is responsible for DayZ, DayZ is responsible for Early Access
- Barely functional controls, that can't be fully fixed, even with remapping
- Server download speeds are pathetic, takes like 5 minutes to download a 10 MB file
- Movement and aiming are painfully clunky, feels like your character is drunk at all times
- Poor performance, due to CPU stress, instead of GPU usage. Graphic settings have practically no impact on performance
- DLC items exist, but then prompt you to buy instead of actually being usable, and/or spam you with screen blocking ads at random

A classic-style ARPG, with deep playstyle customization.

+ Potion depth
+ Upgrade items
+ Fitting graphics
+ Leagues and races
+ FF7 Materia-esq system
+ FF10 Sphere Grid-esq system

+- Endless junk loot
+- Weird currency system
+- Classes only effect your starting position on the Sphere Grid
+- Highly customizable loot filter, that requires editing an external script file
+- While most microtransactions are vanity-only, there are a few pay2win things, like stash tabs
+- Playstyle is super customizable, but can't easily be changed, without creating a new character

- Is there a story?
- No damage numbers
- Meaningless text walls
- Ugly loading screen with no animation
- Attacks have a stupid high chance to miss
- Classes are gender locked and not-customizable
- No transmogs, probably because vanity cash shop
- Leveling abilities increases their mana cost, often making it pointless
- Can't easily join other players, and coop doesn't work very well in general
- Balance issues. Entire screens of enemies die in a single hit. Abilities vary from worthless to madness. Bosses that 1shot you, after an entire dungeon of enemies that did 0 damage.

Fun in singleplayer, fun in coop, fancy customization, varied and interesting environments, tactical cover based squad gameplay. More than worth the $10.

★★★☆☆

A decent game, but more of a final cash in on the Arkham series, than the ode to Batman offered in the first two. The only truly new feature here is the Batmobile, and it makes the overall experience worse. Arkham City recommended over Knight.

Likes:
+ Impressive smoke and water graphics
+ Bigger, taller, and more interesting city
+ Improvements and additions to combat and stealth
+ Destructible environments, but only to the Batmobile
+ GCPD is a neat collectibles hub, though lacking a Batcave
+ Online scoreboards make AR challenges a bit more interesting, though the highscores are blatantly hacked, with top combos of 30,000 to 1,000,000,000

+- The new non-FPS tunnel/grate outline system is a bit strange, especially since you can't see yourself highlighted under the floor
+- Graphic performance comes and goes, sometimes hitting the 90 FPS cap, other times falling below 60

Dislikes:
- Gadget swapping is more intrusive, instead of more intuitive
- Alternate Batmobile skins break the game by disabling combat mode
- I find it strange that Batman can use bats (and other enemy melee weapons)
- Only basic thugs when freeroaming post game, no armed patrols, or even advanced melee
- You get very few upgrade points from the main story, mostly from side missions, and most upgrades require multiple points. This makes progression feel slow and unrewarding.
- Various minor bugs throughout the game
- The freeze grenade is on a random table? Rather uneventful gadget acquisition
- Dear Batman, stop pausing my adventure every 5 minutes to facetime with Alfred
- The slowmo cinematic cam is absent on most final takedowns
- Combat sounds like you're smacking somebody with a soggy toaster
- Environmental takedowns seem very picky about when they'll work, almost random
- Batman's walking is now locked in the direction of the camera. In Arkham City you could walk towards the camera, cool guys don't look at explosions
- The controls for sliding and detective vision were nonsensically changed for no reason
- Hit X 5 times for grappling boost? If anything, this should have been reduced to once
- SMAA is the only AA option. Its blurry, mutes details, and doesn't effectively fix jaggies. Chromatic Aberration, another blur filter? Film Grain, yet more distortion? Its like they don't want you to see the graphics.
- Adaptive vsync doesn't work properly, and tries to sync the game to 30 FPS. The point of adaptive is to only sync above the monitor's refresh rate
- The normal ending of the story is unsatisfying, it feels rushed, if not unfinished. The first additional ending doesn't help whatsoever. I haven't unlocked the final final ending yet, as it requires collecting 100% of the universe.
- So, let me get this straight... They went through all the trouble of adding combat systems and combo animations for 2 people, but didn't bother adding actual multiplayer/coop? And sidekicks aren't even available in free roaming. GG, Rocksteady, GG
- I hate the new art style, and am not sure why it was changed. The new batsuit looks like a cosplayer's attempt at making ironman-batman, by taping random bits of plastic to a tracksuit. All of the villains look worse as well, the main villain looks like a cosplayer of the keyblade wars. The Arkham City costume is the best batsuit design of all time, and shouldn't have been scrapped.
- Endless TazerMedics in the endless AR modes, like Iceburg Lounge, are gamebreaking. Though they are a nice addition in most normal modes.
- The Batmobile (tank) is more of a hindrance than anything, its like a persistent escort quest. It isn't well integrated into gameplay flow. Its combat isn't well thought out or balanced. It isn't fun to drive, partially because it feels 2x too slow, and shooting mechanics don't work on a controller. If it simply had some automated systems, autopilot, autolocking on tanks, and countering missiles with Y, like you can in melee combat, perhaps it would have felt more a part of the game, instead of a quickly thrown in, barely functional minigame, that constantly plagues main story progression. Batman can infinitely sprint, dodge, counter, use his gadgets, etc, but the Batmobile has a cooldown on every one of its equivalent features. It feels like an afterthought, and I never once found myself using it, unless required for progression. You know what the Batmobile's most useful feature is? Slingshotting you into a super glide, so that you don't have to use the Batmobile.

More God of War than Castlevania.

Likes:
+ Nice Music
+ Nice Scenery
+ Captain Picard
+ Graphics performance
+ Interesting Story/Monster Origin
+ Menu Book + HUD Art. For some reason, more and more recent games are using programmer-art as final product HUDs, its nice to see something with artistic effort.

Dislikes:
- Linear linear linear
- Locked camera angles
- No equipment system
- Unintuitive level design
- Invisible walls everywhere
- Slow and inconsistent pacing
- Parkour is slow, stiff, and non-dynamic
- The loading screen text often seems spoilery
- Most collectibles are unrewarding scrolls of text
- 'Mounts' are pointless gimmicks to open the next room
- Controller layout doesn't feel right, and can't be changed
- PreRendered cutscenes, with worse than ingame graphics?
- Combat is mindless button mashing and/or quicktime events
- Forced replay, of linear levels, to access new collectibles & trials
- Magic: Light and Dark mode are simple toggles, and are more like ARPG gear stats
- Only 3 enemy types:
1. Trash packs that you spam AoE, or grab+quicktime to 1shot (refill your HP and/or MP)
2. Stagger-proof mini-bosses, dodge roll their attacks (spend MP here)
3. Shadow of the Colossus wanabes, with stiff climbing mechanics, and trial&error phases
- "You cannot carry any more Daggers."
