★★★★★ I'm Batman! No other game encapsulates its hero quite like Arkham City, as you flawlessly beatdown hordes of thugs and fireoff gadgets to solve puzzles in an openworld.
+ Combat + Gadgets + Costume + Graphics + Animations + Snowflakes + Camerawork + Boss Battles + Vanity damage + Cape animations + Combat Gadgets + Character design + Slowmo Finishers + Unique open world + Story & voice acting + Batsignal as waypoint + Satisfying combat sounds + Unique travel methods, without any fall damage + Dynamic gadgets+interactive environments=puzzles
+- Riddler Trophies
- No multiplayer/coop - Graphic options in a seperate app
★★☆☆☆ Entertaining as an action thriller. Disappointing as a sequel to Blood Money.
+ Drag and hide bodies + Slowmo takedowns and intuition + Cover system + Action roll between cover
+- Player created Contracts add replay value +- Simple/linear leveling system that increases stats +- Graphics. Would be better without the instagram filters +- Walk around corners in cover, smooth but stealth breaking +- Toss objects, but no infinite coins, and where they land is half RNG +- Collectible weapons and outfits, but they aren't marked in any way, leading you to redundantly pickup everything in sight. Nor do they have much point since you can't choose a loadout before missions.
- Rude story - QTE Combat - Linear missions - No loadout customization - Poor performance on a 970 - Most locations are unappealing - Restart many times if going for score - Bonus objectives/challenges force replay - Awful checkpoints and no mid-mission saving - Avoiding detection can fail due to clunky movement - Limited intuition range, usage, and it slows you down - Enemies only have 2 modes: oblivious and murderface - Punishes every playstyle except "touch nothing" stealth - Lockon mode pulls you out of cover and screws the camera - Disguises somehow make you more noticeable. Game breaking - Stiff climbing mechanics and only certain ledges can be climbed - Can't close doors, they just magically close on their own after you walk away - Bad inventory system. Standard gun hotkeys, but guns replace each other awkwardly
★★★★★ Hide in plain sight, make assassinations look like unfortunate accidents.
+ Music + Agent 47 + Useful map + Suitcase Rifle + Collectible weapons + Drag and hide bodies + Newspaper after a mission + Disguises that actually work + Varied and interesting locations + Sandbox missions in open areas + Gear upgrades and kit customization + Multiple ways to complete each mission
+- Hideout, though it could be more integrated into gameplay +- Over a decade old and a console port, but no game breaking issues +- Static missions. There is a best way to complete each mission, and nothing ever changes, meaning that once you master them, they can get boring.
- Auto closing doors - NPCs can open locked doors - Hard to tell if in a suspicious area
★★★★☆ Fallout lite, in a magical underwater city. Angels, Mr B.
Pro/Con Feature List + Iconic + Lite Stealth + Dual wielding + Magic intro videos + Upgraded ammo types + Pathfinding quest arrow + Water effects and reflections + Big Daddies and Little Sisters + NPC chatter about backstories + Countless weapon/magic combos + Lite moral choices and multiple endings + Captivating setting - both visually and lorewise + Weapon upgrades change weapons visually and functionally + Record unique combat to earn passive bonuses from enemies + Environmental magic interactions, for both combat and lite puzzle solving + Respawn at a nearby vita-chamber to avoid progress loss from loading saves + Remotely hack enemy cameras, turrets, and bots to befriend them, or vending machines for free stuff if you land the blue bonus, or critical fail in the red to call bots to hijack + See Rapture as the Little Sisters do + Kidnap little sisters, then protect them from waves of enemies, then take them home
+- Quicksaving, though its not very quick +- One time use weapon upgrade stations +- Limited inventory sizes, but it doesn't interfere wth gameplay +- Corpses turn into lockboxes as a performance saver, no setting to increase ragdolls +- Multiplayer TDM, in pre-fall Rapture. This is abandoned now, you likely won't be able to find a match.
- Short - Bots fly in the way. Aside from just blocking your path, and causing friendly fire incidents, this can also lead to accidental deactivations when looting and such.
* Put gun in left hand so controls make sense? * Would be nice if medkits were auto-used when you ran out of HP, similar to Eve
★★★★★ Survive in a post apocalyptic open world, with countless iconic assets, lengthy dialogue choices, and a combat system (VATS) that makes it feel like a true RPG.
+ Iconic + Dialogue + Fast travel + Liam Neeson + VATS & GOATs + Quick quicksaving + Multiple ways to approach quests + Many unique locations and stories + Lore/story/introduction to the world + Radios integrated as part of the story/world + Things you do feel like they impact the world + Integrated leveling, with useful/game changing perks + Repairing makes duplicate loot meaningful, and makes durability an acceptable feature
+- DLC required, GOTY edition recommended.
- GFWL - No multiplayer/coop - There is an audio stutter issue with the radio. Not sure if a problem with new OSs, or my soundcard, or codecs, or what. I have tried many things, and can't find a fix for it on my current system. Wasn't there when I originally played the game many years ago.
+ Music + Shepard + SPAAAACE! + Inteli-toggle helmet + Cover based shooting + Interesting party members + Select weapon types for allies + Ability usage and customization + Strong storytelling, with dialogue options
★★★☆☆ SR3 is the weakest of the series, but still a fun game. The biggest problem with SR3 is bad pacing. In general, you must complete 3 non-optional side activities in order to unlock the next main story mission, and half the time that main story mission is just yet another side activity. If every mission in this game, was as hand crafted as the first, it would have been 10/10.
+ Coop + Nolan North + Dubstep Gun + Super powers + Fun collectibles + Ridiculous Story + Sidequest rewards + Controls; fling yourself across the city and land on a dime
