Reaons to Buy:
+ You want a slightly more functional, but nearly 1:1 clone of DayZ?

Reasons to Bail:
- Crafting is so horrendously bad that it makes the entire game not worth playing.
- There are plenty of survival games out there, this one does nothing special or better. Unturned is free. Rust is bad, but still better than this. Ark is the current king of the genre. PUBG is a thing.

Pros/Cons Feature List:
+ Music at the title screen
+ Surprisingly high frame rate (~55 FPS)

+- Melee combat is functional enough
+- Clan system? (seems to just allow coop building)
+- Most controls are mapped wrong, but can be changed
+- Some items show on characters, though it seems a wierd selection of which

- Bugs and crashes
- Bad draw distance
- Insta 1shot deaths
- Unintuitive crafting
- Useful loot is too rare
- Practically no PvE elements
- Zombies are rare and easy to kill
- Lowering weapons is janky and pointless
- System resource destoyer (memory leaks?)
- Inventory weight limit, on top of inventory slot limit
- Various acts are super slow, like crouching and leaning
- Can't open/close doors, most places don't even have doors
- Have to manually empty pockets before you can swap clothes
- Searching crates and objects, most of which are empty, is unsatisfying
- Day/Night cycle takes far too long, and night turns buildings into black voids
- Bad building. No snap. No Respawn. Limit of 1 chest per building?? Pointless.
- Awful gathering system. You have to spam mouse to chop trees. Materials quickly make you overweight, and amount to nothing.
- Worst crafting system, of all time. Recipes don't auto-craft lower tier components. Things craft into heavier things. You can't do anything else while crafting, not even close the menu or move. The menu is categorized horribly, and doesn't have a text search. Sometimes the craft cancels itself. Things take entirely too long to craft.

You know what I don't play MMOs for? To walk around by myself, from NPC to NPC, reading a seemingly unlimited number of uninteresting text boxes. Guess what this entire xpac is?

More effort went into FF14's marriage system (and most other pre-Heavensward patches), than both Heavensward and Stormblood combined.

Reasons to Buy:
+ Samurais look cool, but have an awful copy/paste combo playstyle
+ If you want to continue playing FF14, you're forced to buy this, or become irrelevant.

Reasons to Bail:
- Old content made irrelevant, practically deleted, without sufficient content to replace it
- Over priced, under delivered, there's nothing new or exciting here, and they already charge a monthly fee for updates
- Failure to launch. Login Queues that immediately DC you after waiting forever in line. Main Story Quests (which limit all other progress) are impossible, due to server instability.

Pros/Cons Feature List:
+ Namazu
+ Sprint without TP
+ Eastern cities are colorful
+ Minions stay summoned between logins
+ Chocopals don't completely break parties anymore
+ Cross class abilities simplified into role specific ones
+ New and improved fanfare for quest accepted/completed
+ Does MMO Dungeons better than any other. Linear, intentional progress, coop, cutscenes, engaging bosses with meaningful telegraphs, solid rewards

+- Attribute points removed
+- Doubled indoor housing decor limit, but not outdoor
+- Replaced Heavenswards' awful title-screen with a better one
+- Swimming is not natural, useful, fun, or backwards compatible
+- New story content, its certainly better than the political-religious-SJW adventures of Heavensward, which forced you onto the side of the idiots, no less, but most of it is text boxes and fetch quests.
+- Inventory space increased by about 50%. Retainer space not increased at all. And they gave 1.5 pages of main inventory instead of 2?? They need to make inventory space infinite, or add some sort of collectible hub like WoW and GW2 have.
+- Many abilities were "removed". Some straight up removed. Others, like Bio1 and Bio2, were basically combined into one, but both still exist in the spell list, confusingly. Even more confusing, some abilities, like Ruin1 upgrade into Broil, while Ruin2 is a separate spell.

- No new race
- No water combat
- Still no addon support
- No new /cposes or emotes
- 9000X disconnect bug is back
- Barely any quality of life improvements
- Diving is just flying, in an empty custom zone, with watery screen effects
- Hard transition, basically a loading screen, between swimming and diving
- Screen space reflections. This looks awful now that half the world is water
- Voiced textboxes still don't auto advance Can toggle this with spacebar in cutscenes! However, it leaves about a 2 second delay after each line of dialogue. Also, this hidden setting carries over to non-voiced scenes, and even tutorials, which isn't the best.
- Stat creep, max level raised by 10, ilvl raised by ???
- The first new zone you visit is awful, graybrown, bleak, and empty
- Disconnect, wait 5 minutes in loginQ, to instantly disconnect again
- Level sync still hijacks your abilities, and un-sync needs to not exist
- Major game breaking bugs, like main story quests that can't be completed
- Broken instancing, due to over-population, doesn't even keep groups together
- Instant abilities still aren't instant, and macros that workaround CDs were broken
- The start of this xpac is painfully slow, especially considering how the story left off
- Class resource graphics are in an awkward place, and have to be manually moved for each
- No graphic improvements, even though they made a big deal about dropping last gen support(?)
- Voiced segments are still selected at random. Some scenes even start with voice acting and end without
- Flying unlock, while not as bad as WoW, still requires you to explore an entire zone on foot before flying there
- Annoying quests, most of which involve reading 3 dialogue boxes, getting a Quest Complete message, then walking 10 feet for another
- Stormblood's opening movie doesn't play the first time you launch it, nor is it listed in the Movies section, you have to AFK at the title-screen to see it
- No changes to combat, even though they boasted that as a key feature. Were they talking about changing the main buff of each class into into its own graphic??
- Way. Too. Much. Dialogue. Like 99% of the content here is people standing around talking about nothing. If you were to skip all of the dialogue-only cutscenes, you could probably 100% this xpac in an hour
- The entirety of the story is reliant on the concept that the leader of the garlean's is so godmode OP that he can singlehandedly battle the entire universe. And yet, in the in-game battle you have with him, he's not even strong enough to actually kill you 1v1, they have to end the battle with a cutscene?? They should have just let me kill him there, and skipped to the end of this boring excuse for a dialogue simulator.
- "New" classes are yet again lazy animation-re-skins of existing ones, which contribute nothing new or interesting to the game, and both are DPS. They could have added Beastmaster, for example, fitting with the new setting, and would have added the ability to tame enemies from the world, could have even been a tank class for great uniqueness and variety. Or Dancer, which they teased in the original trailer, only to pass off as a Monk, could have offered a support class that healed by doing damage. Disappointing if not pathetic.

For all this xpac does (or more like doesn't do) they should have instead sold Red Mage and Samurai as DLC classes for $10 each, and left the rest of it as normal content updates.

Fallout 4's Contraptions Workshop mod is like a bad, unintuitive, pointless, non-multiplayer version of Factorio. Buy that instead. Thank me later.

★★★☆☆
Reasons to Buy:
+ Wear a gas mask.
+ Save an atmospheric, post apocalyptic, russian subway society.

Reasons to Bail:
- Linear, with almost no replay value

Pros/Cons Feature List:
+ Flashlight
+ Boss fights
+ Atmosphere
+ Solid tutorial
+ Toggle-able lights
+ Doesn't install 50+ GB
+ Graphics and performance
+ Interesting AI types and variety
+ Handheld map+compass & lighter
+ Enemies have good impact when shot
+ Several interesting locations and scenes
+ Dark ones add unique but passive mechanics
+ More weapons and attachments than Metro 2033
+ More focused story, with an actual goal and villians
+ Gas Mask: Breakable, cleanable, timeable (via in-game wrist watch)
+ Gas mask is a nice glassy HUD effect, instead of blacking out the entire screen for eye holes
+ Pilot a train car through the tunnels to optional stops (only for one level of the game)
+ Offensive lighting. While the first game only ever had you turn lights off, for stealth, this one has reasons to turn them on.
+ Meaningful difficulty options. One changes the game from survival horror to an action shooter, by increasing ammo collected, and another disables the HUD (which is already minimal)
+ Immersive intuitive minimal HUD. Your gas mask doesn't have an HP bar, it visibly breaks. Filters are timed via your in-game wrist watch. There an informative quest arrow, but it doesn't float magically at the top of your screen, its attached to a handheld note pad. You can physically see how many medpacks you have left when you use one. etc. In fact, just about the only thing represented by a "normal" HUD is ammo.

+- Jump scares. 2spooky4me
+- Controls need minor remapping
+- Story doesn't really pickup until ~7 hours in
+- Typos and translation issues on diary pages
+- Various bits of content were added/removed/changed
+- ~10 hour story, little-to-no replay value, unless you want achievements
+- The lighter is a nice effect, but sticking it in peoples faces is a bit awkward
+- Rechargeable flashlight and air-pump weapons. Interesting mechanic, but a bit clunky
+- Weapon attachments, as upgrades, not customization, and can only be modified in shops (or found presets)
+- This game is a direct sequel to Metro 2033, picking up right where it left off. However, even with that, the first game is hardly worth playing, as the story barely does anything there
+- Bare-bones stealth. You stand in darkness to become completely invisible. Can KO or Kill enemies, but there's seemingly no difference. Can't move bodies. Can't peek. No distractions. No enemy detection stages.

- Theater
- Subway slums
- Tasteless nudity
- Timed stealth segments
- Un-skipable intro title-screens
- Hostage scene makes zero sense
- No quick-saving, only saves at checkpoints
- In-game dialogue often cuts off or overlaps
- Most other actions interfere with the lighter
- Limited graphic options and no borderless mode
- No multiplayer/coop, even though you often have an NPC buddy
- Not using Gas Mask breakability to represent HP seems like a wasted opportunity
- Doors either can't be opened, magically lock behind you, or can never be closed again
- The ending (semi-spoiler) seems like it would create an easy opportunity for the nazis to take over, but based on the happy ending summary, that doesn't seem to happen?
- Chambered bullet. This means you can fire once after reloading, without needing to reload again. Confusing, inconsistent, and unsatisfying. BF4 does the opposite, and it works alot better. Reloading clears the chamber, allowing you to double-reload for 1 extra bullet.

- Metro Last Light is all around better, and even though its story picks up directly where this one ends, its hardly worth playing this one, as almost nothing happens in the story here. You might even be better off playing LL first, to give more context to this story.

Reasons to Buy:
+ An entertaining story
+ Demon powers on top of FPS
+ Graphic style and performance

Reasons to Bail:
- Short and linear, with almost no replay value

Pros/Cons Feature List:
+ Bosses
+ Level variety
+ Upgrade tree
+ Good performance
+ Useful quest tracker
+ Pause and/or skip cutscenes
+ Solid writing and voice acting
+ Borderlands/Telltale graphics style, done right
+ Parrallel coop missions, need friends cause nobody online
+ Haven't played the first game, but the story was easy to follow
+ Darkness powers add powerful interactions on top of standard FPS gameplay

+- Mobsters
+- New Game+
+- Refill health and ammo with executions
+- 4 Difficulties, not sure which one is Normal
+- 5+ hour story mode, not much replay value
+- Controls are weirdly mapped, but can be changed
+- Linear levels. Semi-explorable, but no reason to explore

- Buggy vent bits
- Only saves at checkpoints
- Hard to tell where lights are coming from
- Darkness's voice is stupid. Demon puberty?
- Vertical vs horizontal slashes seem unnececsary, and are clunky to control
- The main menu is stuttery, which is weird, because the rest of the game runs at 120+ FPS

Have you ever wanted to craft the common cold? No? Even if that was a good game idea, this game is too simple, overpriced, and amounts to a poorly designed RNG race.

Reasons to Buy:
+ Your favorite Youtuber played it and gave a "funny" name to their virus?

Reasons to Bail:
- Practically zero content in this poorly designed, overpriced, mobile port of a flash game

Pros/Cons Feature List:
+- UI is nice artistically, but provides zero useful information without clicking into menus

- RNG
- Addictive
- Meme news
- Limited DNA
- Mutation RNG
- Poorly balanced
- Only ~1hour of content
- Needs a bar for cure difficulty
- RNG can screw you out of a win
- Even the achievements are RNG
- Most events don't have map icons
- Plague symptoms are gross and evil
- Tutorials don't explain core mechanics
- Tutorials show every time you play the game
- 99% identical skill trees for different virus types
- $15 for a mobile port of a free2play flash game?
- Pacing is way too slow, even on the fastest speed
- Unintuitive menus, takes 6 clicks to do what could be done in 1
- Doesn't save your custom virus name, and defaults to PAX-12 for every type
- Gameplay is non-existent, you just watch your plague passively spread, via RNG
- Build variety (and therefore replay value) is stupid basic, borderline non-existent
- The most variety in this game is infection dots being ornage instead of red, WOW!
- The few RNG events in this game have no impact on gameplay. Which country you start in, which country starts on the cure, what events are going on, none of it matters. Aside from boat immunity, if you RNG that, gj you lose.
- Upgrades have absolutely no impact, aside from the speed at which things passively RNG. Spreading via birds instead of rats? Killing the world with projectile vomit instead of inflamation? Changes nothing.

* Vampire mode is better, more interesting and interactive, at least
* Zombie mode is also a bit better, but getting to it is a tedious mind numbing unintuitive chore, that will turn you into a zombie in the process

100% infected. 1.6 billion dead. "Mystery still surrounds the decision to postpone the Rio Olympics". Does it? gj RNGesus

This game might be good, if:
+ News popups were actually meaningful, instead of bad memes
+ There was a button to devolve symptoms on the mutation popup
+ Each virus type had at least 2 unique skill tress, not just a single line
+ Some sort of Q for learning abilities, considering you just learn the same ones in the same order every time
+ Instead of infecting the entire world, meaninglessly, via dots, you infect something like a Fallout Vault with ~20 Sims in it. They sleep, eat, work, poop; infecting each one, and how you infect each one, would actually have a meaningful impact on gameplay.

Fallout 4's Automatron adds ~5 hours of new quests, a couple new factions, new locations, new equipment, and most importantly, the ability to build your own robot companions.

+ New equipment
+ Interesting robotics/AI story
+ Cool doors, not sure if you can build them
+ Robot companion more likeable than any of the actual ones
+ Adds new factions that have a lasting impact on the game world
+ Varied and interesting robot attachments, similar to power armor
+ Can build an army of robots to use as settlers (supply lines, farming, etc)
+ Robot ugprades add yet another type of meaningful collectible to the world
+ Build anything from a flying lazer turret, to a mini-tank that beats enemies to death with batons, to a giant death machine, to a passive healbot, to a humanoid packmule

+- Robot faction feels like cut content, since it did exist in FO3. It also makes several prevoiusly useless perks more useful.

- Can't customize robots for vanity vs stats/functionality
- Quest marker bugged out/disappeared on several occasions
- Robot companion lacks dialogue/relationship compared to normal ones
- Robot companion replaces your normal one, instead of being added to the party. Like Dogmeat should also be, and was in FO3. If anything, the robot companion should only replace the additional Dogmeat. Even better if you could build a robodog.

Fallout 4's Vault-Tec Workshop adds ~4 hours of new quests, and some new vault-themed settlement objects. While you can technically build a vault with this, there's really no reason to do so, and there aren't even prefab vault rooms.

+ The new items are interesting, in theme and functionality

+- Re-uses areas already in the game for fetch quests
+- The idea of owning your own vault is 10/10, but doesn't amount to anything in this mod

- Settlement attacks on the vault are buggy
- The new items are blindly impacted by your quest decisions
- The new character(s) aren't overly interesting, and aren't companions
- No new equipment, unless you count dirty Vault suits with a different # on the back
