I'm terrible at interviews. I'm too open an honest about things. I can't BS people. What you see is what you get. When they are questioning me on the spot about specific things, I don't know what to tell them and it makes me look like a schmuck. I show my skills with results.

Being able and enthusiastic about learning the questions they are asking is the best trait. Show others that you have the desire

Hang in there! There are all sorts of different cultures, there will be places that appreciate the openness and honesty

Yeah thats not ideal. Interviews are unique and unlike many real work situations but also a reflection of you in a snap shot.
You dont have to be good at them but you have to have a great work history to bypass it.

I’m the same way. I think if you do it with genuineness, a good attitude, and a little bit of humor, it can be an asset in the right environment. It hasn’t prevented me from landing jobs (but it has made it harder for sure)

Yeah I hate that generic upselling of yourself you're supposed to do in interviews >.<

I’m sorry, Cooper. That sucks and I know the feeling. I’ve sent out *literally* 403 résumés since February with nothing to show for it. Keep plugging along. It’s all you can do. The right thing will come.

I'm super bad with interviews. My most recent interview I tried to hijack the interview by asking them questions about the company. They ended up talking about themselves for about half an hour.
I got the job.

I've always had the feeling that interviews are more about sympathy than skills. I'm always surprised how few job relevant questions I get.
My take is: if they can't appreciate honesty, it's probably a bad fit anyway.

Nobody has mentioned it but age is also a issue and it shouldn’t be.
I had a group interview for ramp worker, 5 at my table all with prior experience, one interviewer asked if I was the person who knew his friend, I said yes and got hired
Last group accepted before Covid.

I’m 53, and you’d think moving 1000’s of pounds of luggage, mail and freight would mean younger hires. I hope you find something but what you are doing now needs to be nurtured as well and can give you a life.
