The bill was two parts. One was regular government spending which included what trump wanted. The covid relief was just attached to get some help for people. trump is to blame for this. No one else. He took no interest until it was signed.

Here’s the sequence of events. House D’s wanted $2k+ per person. R’s wouldn’t agree to it. D’s propose $600, b/c that’s the highest amount that it appears R’s in the senate will approve. The bill is signed off in the house. It’s finally passed by the senate.

Then Trump refuses to sign the bill b/c the payment isn’t high enough. But he hasn’t advocated at all for $2k per person during the months in which Mitch McConnell was flatly refusing to bring the house bill to the floor.

Actually I am going to say you are both almost correct.
People are losing benefits because those in Washington DC can't understand the fundamental concept they have to work together.

Joe, the bill includes all the international funding requests made by the Trump admin. It also includes extended unemployment insurance (+$300/week), a round of PPP loans, $600 relief checks, food stamps $, transit funding, vaccine funding, etc. Sign the bill to help America!

How would you write th headline cause it looks pretty straight forward no bias - he has a bill that if he signs it people keep their benefits and if he doesn’t they don’t and he refused? How would you write it?
