I love how Nintendo used MY old ass Mario render in their official Nintendo World website.

Noticed a huge amount of traction on this situation. If it wasn't already obvious, I make Mario/Nintendo renders.
Here are some other renders I have made.

What the hell, they have an official render and they could use it. Is there anything that you can do about it?

Now, this is how Nintendo manages to keep in touch with their fans
(I'm being sarcastic, don't worry)

it looks pretty much the same as the official one, i could definitely see an intern mixing them up
not like he could sue or anything, mario is nintendo's intellectual property

I knew that render was stolen
I remember the nintendo world website got leaked and as i saw the website loading i noticed the mario render looking fanmade
Now we finally know they took the render
Lol

Nintendo: making fan games of our licensed properties is bad

i remember that drama. whats funny is that i knew the artist personally lol
i remember he had to change his fan art for an unrelated game he made fanart for because they looked official and it kept being stolen and used like it was official by creators and fans

I assume they just couldn´t tell cause god damn that looks almost exactly like the real one. Can´t tell if thats a compliment or not

Or they could just... use an internal file of a render instead of one from the web?

Nintendo are kinda very careful with these things, so it was probably Universal who did the mistake.

Reminds me of steel wool using fan models in official promo art for hw, probably an account though because the render looks so official!

You could probably just ask for them to change it. While they have a bad rep with this type of stuff, this isn't the first time it's happened, in SSBU, the Masked Man Spirit was accidentally a fan sprite.

my guess is that they search up “Mario Render” or something like that and took what ever look good and they didn’t check if it was official

Your render looks so realistic! Nice work! It's possible it could be an honest mistake. I'm hoping this is the case and they compensate you.

I think you mean used your render on their Mario Themed and licensed theme park website.

Someone really has to learn to use resources that their company has instead of using Google Images

The render was done previously before by Nintendo so this really makes no sense plus they own character not yourself.
