People can now change their comment settings to allow for comments with links by unverified people. Currently only released on the most recent iPhone update of Parler but coming soon to android and web. See left panel, moderation, settings.

We are moving a few things around under the hood to increase our capacity as new traffic comes in. This caused push notifications to get backed up and few things exploded. We are working it out quickly but you may experience a few errors with echos, parleys and comments in the meantime.

We experience over 300,000 hack attempts per day. Not one successful. We constantly monitor everything very closely. We routinely hire hacking firms to run penetration testing to ensure we do not have any flaws. 💪💪

1) We do NOT keep more user data then required to run your account, there is never anything in our DBs about you worth hacking.
2) All data pertaining to user verification other then the selfie and the state/country of the ID have been deleted once verification is competed.

Update on today’s outage! The cause was due to a server migration late last night. We needed to transfer all direct messages over to the new system and the transfer said it completed.... but it didn’t. We are re-running the transfer now and it should complete sometime today so everyone should get their messages back. 😃

The impressions issue effected every Parley created yesterday. As far as we could tell, we were syncing data from the old database to the new. The impressions on everyone’s Parley’s created yesterday reset to an earlier point in the day yesterday causing massive swings. We are re-running the sync script to update those numbers more accurately. However that explains the impressions issue from earlier. 💪

Quick update from the dev team, the feed systems, as well as notification, follower/following counts and notification accounts should be back to normal within about 30 minutes. Due to a high spike load yesterday combined with some required maintenance that ran into the late afternoon due to some high user user activity, we had to internally limit a number of these systems. Follower/Following counts will be undergoing a full synchronization within the hour.

Feeds are currently not updating and haven’t been for a while. We are working on fixing the problem. Please standby.

Parler's late-night server team checking in with a bit of an apology for the issue with feeds recently. The massive influx of users recently caused us a bit of a headache, and we've been working on patching this up as quickly as we can. We've deployed a couple of new fixes tonight, and we'll be monitoring the feed system closely over the next few days. If you're still seeing issues specifically with the feed, please let us know!

Welcome to our users, new and old, we have to admit, you guys have made a massive amount of content over the last couple of weeks! To this end, we've certainly not missed your complaints about speed and some of the other... oddities that occour around the platform during higher load times. Tonight, around 1 AM PST (8 AM UTC), there's going to be a maintenance that may or may not have a couple of short outages involved. We're aiming to keep these to an absolute minimum, but we wanted to let everyone know!

We are actively working on fixing a couple of known bugs, releases have slowed down for our frontend teams slightly as we're putting a bunch of extra load on our QA team to review the releases extra-thoroughly

Infrastructure wise, we're making active improvements down those lines as well, as part of this, we're going to be performing some "late-night" (1:30 AM-ish PST) maintenance on our SQL cluster, which may incur a brief downtime. We'll be aiming to keep this short as possible if it happens, but we wanted to let everyone know it was a possibility!

iPhone update 2.23 has been released and should be available on the App Store shortly.

Many small UI/UX changes and bug fixes. Filled comment, echo, and vote buttons to make it very clear when you have clicked them!

We added hashtag support for non-Latin characters. IE. Arabic, Russian, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and more.

We also added a simple Farsi translation of the app.

Apologies for the overall lateness of this post, we've been monitoring the change over of our SQL servers. Over this past week, we were monitoring our systems due to a previous change in the structure of our primary SQL cluster. Yesterday, due to the increased overall traffic to web properties across the internet, we noticed an increase in errors coming from the platform. This was primarily related to a slow-down in the disks of our primary SQL node. We begun executing a migration plan to a new server with a higher speed disk, however, this was not completed until late (10 PM-ish) PST, so the final cutover happened late last night.

We're continuing monitoring this going forwards, particularly with all the increased traffic to web services at the moment. We're committed to ensuring the quality of the platform through these trying times.
