I have set up the facebook pop (https://www.dropbox.com/s/lnxefilm0fwlzje/facebook_ringtone_pop.m4a) as my 'new email notification' sound
in gmail by copying the file to sdcard/notifications. This worked pretty well with my S3 (ICS).
I can find the so installed 'facebook pop' in the gmail notifications and Iam able to select it. Nevertheless, it will not play anyway. I tried to play the sound in the built in sound player manually and realized that the file dont makes a sound anyway if I call it from e. g. a file browser (root explorer). When the audio player is started and the m4a file is loaded and I play it again it makes it's nromal noise.
Do you have any hints?
