Abstract
Damping characteristics are obtained for cable trays in nuclear power plants by employing large scale shaking table. The following results are obtained: (1) large damping ratios, more than 15 %, are obtained when exciting accelerations are larger than 0.5×9.8 m/s^2, (2) there are no correlation between damping ratio and cable tray width, and (3) damping ratio becomes almost constant when exciting acceleration exceeds 0.5×9.8 m/s^2.
