Mac Miller has posted a video which appears to show Donald Trump rap Miller’s hit ‘Donald Trump’.
In the parody video, Presidential candidate Trump is seen dancing to Drake’s ‘Hotline Bling’ as well as trying to debate with and high-five himself.
Miller had a hit with ‘Donald Trump’ in 2011, which led Trump to threaten to sue the Pittsburgh rapper for royalties. Nothing became of the threats, and Miller reflected on Trump’s rise in March. He told US chatshow The Nightly Show With Larry Wilmore: “The messed-up thing is, I don’t even know if Trump is evil. I think he’s just such an egomaniacal, attention-thirsty, psychopathic, power-hungry, delusion waste of skin that he’ll do, say or allow anything if it means he’ll get just one more minute in the limelight.”
The new video for ‘Donald Trump’ promotes a reissue of Miller’s 2011 mixtape ‘Best Day Ever’, which became available commercially for the first time last Friday (June 3). As well as ‘Donald Trump’ – which samples Sufjan Stevens’ 2010 song ‘Vesuvius’ from his album ‘The Age Of Adz’ – ‘Best Day Ever’ includes a song, ‘All Around The World’ produced by Just Blaze.
Press‘Best Day Ever’ was the most commercial of Miller’s five mixtapes at that point, with the following year’s full debut album ‘Blue Slide Park’ reaching No 1 in the US. Miller’s most recent album was 2015’s ‘Go:Od AM’.
