Alesia (uh-leh-Zee-uh) is an LA based director of Japanese/Brazilian descent with an international and urban upbringing. She’s lived in Saudi Arabia, Mexico City, Peru, Brazil and all across the U.S. As a teen, it was thanks to the Boys and Girls Club in Charlestown, MA that she able to make her first short film, Graffiti. 

Glidewell is a current fellow of the prestigious Sony Pictures Television Diverse Director's Program. This spring, NBA Champion Steph Curry and actress Storm Reid selected her to write and direct a short film for their Under Armour “B-amazing” Curry 7 sneaker release. Glidewell received  the Superlounge Diversity Award for Commercial Directing  in 2018 and was awarded as a SH//FT VR Scholar in 2017.  She was also a PGA Basecamp TV Mentee and is a former Board Delegate of the PGA New Media Council. Her work background spans the gamut from voice over, motion capture, acting, stunts, vfx, audio & camera to her priority and passion as a director.

Some of Glidewell’s commissioned projects include the indie feature “Look at Me” (Amazon Prime), the dramedy short “Small Fish”  (Best Short, HRIFF), the unscripted multicam series “Wear it to Win it” (MGM / FB Watch) and countless branded one-offs and series for brands like Major League Baseball, Honda, Sprint and Estée Lauder. A few of the original branded content series she’s created & executed include “Lana Steele: Makeup Spy” (12 episodes, 12M views) and “The Tube’s Hautest” (25 eps, 28M views) both featuring Lilly Singh, and “How-To-Makeup: BETTER” (8 eps, 20M views) with Colleen Ballinger. Glidewell oversaw creative and delivered the doc feature “A Trip to Unicorn Island” to YouTube Red for Astronauts Wanted (Best Feature, Streamy Awards). In 2016, she developed and sold the political comedy series “Smeared" (aka We’ve Got Issues) with King Russell to Seriously TV. Glidewell also served as an embedded filmmaker for Paramount Pictures, a multicam director for the YT series Fight of the Living Dead, a live series producer for NBC Universal digital content and an ideator/writer for TV & Film marketing for Netflix and digital agencies. Outside of commissioned work, Glidewell has written and directed several earlier short films, mostly within science fiction, supernatural, drama and action. The horror film that she developed in early 2019, “Shook,” will soon be released on Shudder.
