Tats are descended of Crimean Goths who got Turkified by Cuman Turks
Yaliboylu are descended of Italian + Greek settlers who got Turkified by Oghuz Turks..

When Stalin deported them to Uzbekistan, these three groups underwent miscegenation and became one group that adopted the Cuman language as their mother tongue.
Before the Russians conquered them, they were vassals of the Ottoman empire (hence why the costal Tatars existed)

The people of Azerbaijan aren't even actual Azeris. That place was historically called Albania, which was conquered and added to Azerbaijan (the Iranian one).
The only surviving remnant of the Old Albanian language is Udi. The rest of its speakers got Turkified into "Azeris"
