Hello everyone,
I am working 2 jobs and am trying to graduate grad school this year. Due to my unreal workload I will be leaving twitter for the time being.
See you all in a while.
US officials have been lying to Trump - and the American people - about the true number of US troops in Syria in order to deter him from withdrawing them, according to the outgoing Syria envoy. Trump thinks it’s 200

Ayman Zawahiri, al-Qaeda leader & Osama bin Laden successor, died a month ago of natural causes in his domicile. The news is making the rounds in close circles.
- I realize the issue wt such claims but corroborated it wt sources close to AQ (Hurras al-Din)
Photos from a Tribal PMF and Iraq Army operation in Houran Valley 2 days ago, the units killed 3 ISIS, seized one vehicle, and destroyed an encampment during the searches.
this colorism exists among Arabs too.
You will find many cute pictures of blond Syrian kids with opposition flags circulating Arab social media,
but Yemeni kids, known for their dark skin & frizzy hair don’t make the cut for viral content guilting you to support their faction.

What I think is interesting is that they don’t have nearly the focus on Yemen.
Is it colourism orientalism or is it because it’s too complex for them to understand
But then again it’s not anymore complex then Iraq or Syria
The previous policy was also a farce. The US under Obama used to term any male over the age of 12 as a terrorist unless proven otherwise(which obviously never happened). There was a drone attack on a school in Pakistan that killed 50 school children; US considered it 50 terrorists
Lauding Trump for "not starting wars" simply ignores that the nature of war has changed. War is no longer just sending foot soldiers. It's funding proxies, backing coups, imposing harsh sanctions, financing and abetting illegal occupations.. all of which Trump's admin did!
Iraq's main financial backers were the oil-rich Persian Gulf states, most notably Saudi Arabia ($30.9 billion), Kuwait ($8.2 billion) and the United Arab Emirates ($8 billion).

The invasion's purpose, according to Saddam, was to blunt the edge of Iranian Supreme Leader Ruhollah Khomeini's movement and thwart his attempts to export Iran's Islamic Revolution to Iraq and the Persian Gulf states. twitter.com/ibnalrafidayn/…
I still don’t understand why Saddam needed to invade Iran even from Saddamist justifications.
A country around twice the size of us with a popular resistance even among the Iranian Arab population. There was no way we could win.
As a person w/ Iraqi heritage & relatives who still live there, it always feels like I'm voting for candidates that are destined to kill my family, regardless of political party affiliation. I've never voted for a Republican, but Dems are also in bed w/ the MIC.

"I found some old picture of family members the other day and figured they’d be cool to contribute. My family members are Assyrian-Iraqi. Paternal side grew up in northern Iraq before relocating to Baghdad, where I was born".
Today we take you through the #History of #Iraqi#Television . How it was part of Iraqi #identity formation, art, decolonization and slow politicization. Please take a look at our latest article on this topic.
In 1991 the sanctions and operation desert storm caused that a five-pound bag of flour cost US$80 and a dozen eggs cost US$50 in Iraq. Access to food for the average Iraqi became near impossible.
I have a video from my 1st birthday in iraq and around 90% of the people in that video are dead because of that war. When i say i don’t wanna hear your opinion on that war wallah el 3atheem i mean i dont wanna hear it.

Devlet Bahceli, head of the MHP, strong ally of Erdogan, calls upon enforcing the national pact of 1920 which claims that N.Iraq belongs to the new Turkish republic. During Turkish attacks on Iraq this claim is used to justify the attacks #Turkey#Kurds#Assyrian#Iraq#Yezidis
In contrary to Turkey whose country is named after an ethnicity "Iraq" is not, and calling yourself Iraqi does not automatically imply you should be an Arab or be seen as an Arab. We should think beyond etnocentric ownership of territory.

No matter how hard some of you try. No matter how many times you call yourself an Iraqi you will ALWAYS be a Kurd in the eyes of the Arabs, and you will never fully belong. So why make it harder for a Kurdish soul to respect you?!
People are recalling the death of Heather Heyer, a protestor killed by a Trump supporter in 2017, after Ivanka Trump Tweets about ‘physical violence being perpetrated against conservatives’
