why do they insist on limiting the game to one player profile and/or one save game.. it's so common and all it ends up meaning is I have to go into file explorer and manage save games manually.. like for example when my son visits.. annoying!
Yeah, early in the game I fought a bunch of gov soldiers, blew up a base full of oil tanks/transformers, physically traveled through a few scenarios, talked to Dimah, etc. and then when I had to answer the phone and leave for a while found out upon coming back the checkpoints don't really save anything--I had to re-do it all.
Another time I decided to go from my main desktop in the attic to play on my gaming laptop in the basement so I could keep our dogs company. I install the game (gave me a fair amount of time to play with the dogs, lol!), fire it up and-- no game content. SIXTY bucks, a so-called AAA title and they can't be bothered to implement Steam sync?!? So, no decent save system, no Steam sync, funky DRM, not paricularly good PC optimization (although I have to admit mine runs really well on some 980Tis, G-Sync 144 Hz 1440P monitor, 32 GB RAM and Intel m.2 SSD--but so many people with all configurations seem to be having problems), really weak KB/M function (I'd have preferred to use my KB but driving, etc. feel too "loose" so am using an XBox 360 controller), no sprint, crouch, real aiming functions, etc.--a lot of people say these are uncessary for this type of game, but why would it be so difficult/harmful to have them as an option for those of us who would like them?
Anyway, it all points to me towards Avalanche (well, maybe SqE) trying to do just as much as necessary and not one bit more to make this a successful console title (although it actually sounds like they have screwed that up too!) and as absolutely little as possible extra to squeeze a few more bucks out of the PC platform which other than those few bucks they obviously have nothing but disdain/contempt for. Live and learn, don't think I'll be buying any more Avalanche games.
BTW, I don't particularly enjoy ragging on devs. People like, say, the Legends of Dawn guys, who honestly mess up but then acknowledge that and go on to sincerely work on and improve their games have my respect and props. People like them work hard and should make as much money as they can. But the majority of this stuff, like JC3, seems to be solely a money grab with no respect for the customer or product.
