The Afghan diaspora is unlike any other diaspora group. We cannot go back to our homes to visit our relatives. We cannot visit our homeland and see where our parents grew up. We cannot spend our summer vacations there. We’re all scattered and helpless; watching everything burn.

Our campaign doesn’t revolve around Election Day. It revolves around months of outreach like this. Only a socialist program can meet the scale of the crisis. (1/2)

Benazir Bhutto argued that a proxy war in Afghanistan was a terrible idea because, like Vietnam, the US would start the war but run when its interest finished. She said there was no democracy in PK for ppl to become soldiers of the west fighting for democracy in other ppl's land.
