Your picture is too blurry to tell if the soldier is a Japanese soldier. And Chinese always deliberately use blurry photos.
This clearly shows the smiles of Chinese farmers returning to the village protected by Japanese soldiers.

国民党軍は日本軍が攻め込む前に南京城内で南京市民への略奪、殺害を行っていました。そのことは米軍の文書にも記載されています。
