Seriously, why the ♥♥♥♥ do I need to hover over every dropped gun and armor pickup, and hit E. Why can't I just run over it and pick it up like every other shooting game out there. It's just annoying and I honestly wouldn't have bought it since every time I kill someone I have to look around for their gun to get the ammo
It's a really good gameplay choice. I respect the thinking behind it and hope they are not bullied into changing it for people who want to pick up objects by walking over them.

omg LOL these hand holding kids these days everything needs to be done for them. hahahaha this is hilarious because it's so true and pathetic.
you have to take into account if your creating a run and gun game and you shooting down armies of nazi soldiers, your going to want to pick things up real quick. yes i played doom and quake and this is where i am getting this form.
doom and quake only had you walk over the weapons to pick them up.
It's a run and gun game, not run and gun and stop to find rummage for ammo then continue running. It works in certain games like Metro and adds to the atmosphere, not in a game designed to appeal to those who want to run and gun everything down. CoD? Please, haven't played a good one of those in ages.

If I'm missing 30 ammo and there's 30 ammo on the ground, you can be about 99% sure I would want those 30 ammo. Making the design decision that you just automatically pick up ammo unless you're full on it would just make the gameplay smoother, but apparently that's considered "hand-holding".
It's hardly something that really ruins anything for me, but this particular design design puzzled me as well, I have to say. As other people have already pointed out, you even automatically picked things up in the original.
Wolf 3D had auto pickup when you walk over things, most old games had auto pickup. Not having it is a change for the worse and a change that is more abundant with new shooters. It adds padding for no reason. It is a stupid design decision for a game of this style.
I agree, although not in such a violent/aggressive manner. It reminds me of Bioshock Infinite where you spend a significant amonut of time running around tapping F multiple times on any object that looks like it might be lootable. Really breaks up the combat.
Give me some Rolaids plz.
Haha, amen.
