Where is the save game location?

  1. I copied the save games from my documents of win xp and I installed that game to win 7..when I paste that save file to my documents save location then the game is not continued..

  1. Hello fellow gamer,

    I had the same issue as I am forever formating my computer and reinstalling windows,
    Now the way to solve this issue of yours is simple but will take a few minutes.

    Bulletstorm will rename the long code following the PersistentStats and Checkpoint files whenever you reinstall or upgrade windows or reinstall bulletstorm for some reason to a different one. So this worked for me;

    BTW you have to use the same GFWL profile that you used to create the orginial save files you want to restore old ones as they are locked to your account !

    1)So to start off with, start a new game from the beginning (only option).

    2)At first checkpoint when the game saves, exit and quit the game.

    3)Go to the savegame location (C/Users/User/Documents/My Games/Bulletstorm/Stormgame/Savedata/ in Windows 7) and copy the two file's names . E.G. Mine are (Checkpoint-sqke5cilrqc69npje8jc236ics.sav) and (PersistentStats-sqke5cilrqc69npje8jc236ics.sav) and respectively rename your old saves to these new names.

    4)Now finally overwrite the new savegame files with your renamed old saves and you now have access to all the stuff you unlocked in your old savegame files including Skillshot unlocks and other progression stats.

    I have not tested the achievement side as in if you kill all but one Newsbot and the followed this tutorial and killed the last one, I shall try myself and update this later when I finish the game as I need that achiev. But GFWL is intelligent and should give the achiev to you anyway as this is the case in all their other games.

  3. I can also confirm all Live Achievements are "carry overable",

    I.E. If you kill all but one Newsbot and follow the above guide and carry on gaming and kill the last one after restoring savegames you will get the achievement as well as all Skillshot related achievments, etc if you were mid achievment when you stopped.
