Bitcoin cannot (and should not!) become mass market as long as its consumption issue is not tackled. We can't continue pretending this is not highly problematic.
The main victim of this attack is NOT Twitter (the stock is just down 3%) but Bitcoin itself. The hack is another bad publicity, reinforcing its association in people's mind with hackers and scam.
If anything, it proves crypto scams are no longer the easy trap it used to be. People are now educated and won't fall for anything mentioning Bitcoin. Those hackers are 2 years late.
It's also a small gain compared to the potential cost of organizing such hack, and the huge risk it involves for the hackers (FBI will investigate it, as well as some cyber security firms).
The final result of this massive #twitterhack is ridiculous. $120K gain for the hackers is a very small amount compared to the cumulated number of impressions all those tweets got (billions)…
