>Although patients mounted a mostly type-specific SARS-CoV-2 response, B-cell clones directed against seasonal CoV dominated and strongly increased over time. >Seasonal CoV IgG responses that did not neutralize SARS-CoV-2 were boosted well beyond detectable cross-reactivity

Immune responses in COVID 19 patients, now focussing on the potential interaction with prior exposures. Clonal B cell analysis shows massive boost of antibodies to seasonal CoVs , particularly OC43 and non neutralising. medrxiv.org/content/10.110

Great to see SF playgrounds open today in the name of joy, fun, exercise. But: only 1 adult per kid, 30-min limit, no eating or drinking, and crying kids should be removed? Give people a break! This is a low-risk setting. Less absolutism, more pragmatism.

Relying on any single safety measure won't work. Layering our approach is necessary to reduce risk of infection, prevent illness and death, and accelerate economic recovery.

Ambient temperature deposition and sintering of thin conductive silver films at atmospheric pressure. Presented in a biotech context, but looks applicable to a much broader range of manufacturing applications.

Another ultra high pressure superconductor. This one works at room temperature, but requires diamond anvil scale pressure. Essentially, these just substitute extreme pressure for low temperature, and as such likely lack direct engineering applications in their own right.

1. "Saving lives" IS postponing deaths, since we all die. 2. Lockdown vs COVID free-for-all are not the only options. There are many other interventions available. 3. It's pretty remarkable to hear that valuing the lives of vulnerable people is an "anti-science" position.

Lockdown does NOT save lives. It postpones deaths. You end up with the same number of deaths. You just prolong the crisis. Can this country stop being anti-science? We may as well be examining animal entrails.

There is a concerning new trend: the latest surge in #covid19 cases seems to be driven by people gathering w friends & extended family. Remember that 50% spread is by asymptomatic people, who could be those you know. Please use caution especially as we get into the winter months

Herd immunity is not a scientifically or ethically justifiable strategy for responding to an outbreak, let alone #COVID19 pandemic. We must: -Prevent amplifying events -Protect the vulnerable -Empower & educate communities -Find, isolate, test & treat -Trace & quarantine contacts
