>>240945601) It's not a game.
There are no controls other than "move around" and "interact". This in itself isn't bad - but there is no way to lose. At all.
There's no conflict, no nothing. At all.
It's an interactive experience, sure. But it's not a video game.
2) The "game" itself wasn't ruined by SJWs. It was made by SJWs. I have no doubt it achieved what it set out to do, but that doesn't stop it from being shit.
We are presented with a narrative that the PC's (player character) family has moved house while the PC was away. When the PC arrives at this house, she must find out where everyone is by looking around for clues as to where everyone is. (Because I guess nobody cared enough to pick her up from the airport or whatever)
Eventually you find out that your parents are on a holiday because they're having marital problems, and your kid sister has run away with her girlfriend because she's a lesbian. Your sister is under 18 and her girlfriend is over 18. And we're supposed to think that's a GOOD thing. There's no reason given as to why the sister didn't come out to her parents or anything, she just fucks off like a spoilt shit.
It takes about an hour if you look through EVERYTHING. 1 minute if you don't. It cost 20 fucking dollars. For what could have easily been a text document.
Putting this "story" in the interactive medium does not add anything to the story. If anything, it detracts from it. Despite having no reason to exist, this "game" was given 9/10 and 10/10s all over the fucking place, because anything to do with SJW shit is immune from criticism.
A game can focus on the narrative and lack gameplay and still turn out fucking great. But there has to be a reason for it to be in the video game medium - this is why Telltale's The Walking Dead (and now The Wolf Among Us) are considered to be so much better (at least by people who actually like games) than Gone Home - because TWD and TWAU use the interactive nature of gaming to make the story better.
