1970’s COCA COLA PROMOTIONAL FILM “VINTAGE COCA COLA PROPOGANDA” 61464
This film depicts the Coca-Cola beverage product company and features various employees of their shipping department. Throughout the film employees discuss why they believe their company is the number one beverage company to work for as well as why the product is the best. Various points which are used to attract buyers in stores to the product are also addressed. It opens with a credit list of the employees involved in the film (:16). A red Coca-Cola delivery truck rides up a winding road to meet dealers (1:10). The first employee is seen donning the company’s red jacket (1:30) with another Coca-Cola delivery truck in the background. A span of various Coke products including Tab (1:50) follows. Another employee is seen loading up a cart with Coca-Cola products (1:53). Suppliers are then seen in store as one addresses the packaging of the product made to attract the consumer’s eye (2:05). Price tags are rolled onto the products (2:31) as the film addresses their obvious price marking as being of the utmost importance. Glass bottled Coke’s have their price tags set upon them (2:55). Workers continue to stock the store’s shelves (7:24). A woman appears sitting within her car and announces herself as a consumer and an employee of Coca-Cola (3:41). The camera zooms out to show she is sitting in the driver’s side of a Pacific Coca-Cola Bottling Company truck from the Tacoma, Washington branch (3:55). Employees within the store address the consumer’s confusion when they go to purchase a product and there is no price clearly marked on it (4:41). Price tags are then added to 16oz coke bottle packages (4:56). Mr. Pibb and Sprite bottles are then shown priced at $1.69 (6:03). Employees are seen holding a six pack of Tab cans (6:09). Cases are transported from a hand truck to the shelf (6:39). It is important to ensure uniform pricing for the products. ‘Only 25 cents’ is added to a price tag to insinuate to the customer that they are affordable for any budget (7:53). An empty shelf within a store points to the product’s rapid disappearance (8:11). Coca-Cola tags are set next to the store tags (8:31) to ensure uniform pricing and that the consumer will absolutely spot the product (8:31). ‘Shelf talkers’ are considered to be one of the beverage companies most important tools (8:39). A neck wringer type of tag is added to two-liter bottles of Coke (8:49). A montage of employees follows with each dictating which of the shelf talkers they believe are the most useful (8:53). The salesmen are considered to be vital as they are the final employees whom have interaction with the consumer (9:17). A red Coke distribution truck is seen on the road (10:19). Another distribution truck is seen moving over a waterway by ferry (10:34). As the film wraps up a montage is presented of the products being tagged as well as stores stocked with the beverage product (11:03) and the film concludes at (11:21).
