I mean, honestly, do we know this is real? Do we know this isn’t some last ditch election ruse where he claims he’s cured himself with some obscure drug that his company coincidentally makes? That sounds ludicrous but ‘gestures at 2020]

On the one hand, wild conspiracy theories are killing society, but in the other, this is one of the most pathologically dishonest humans in public life surrounded by amoral cultists.

Does he seem like the sort of person who can feign weakness now to project greater strength later?

Trump's known for favoring loyalty in his employees above all else, and it wouldn't be the first time he got a physician to sign off on a lie for him. I just don't know if I buy that this is something Trump would want to do.

My first thought is that if he were going to pull something like that, he would at least try to let it start in prime time

White House physician has signed off on it... I expect plenty of reporters will be asking for more information about the test ASAP

I was more thinking it was a way of getting out of the second debate, but that's 2 weeks away so if that was it, he shot his wad too early.

It could be a ploy to get out of the debates. He could skip them and say he was in quarantine, then afterwards say "My immune system is the best, that's why covid didn't affect me".
Small likelyhood but it wouldn't surprise me.

But then the preventative HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE didn't work and he's weak and surrounded by sick people. Not a narrative he would sign off on.

But seriously, as much as I despise his administration, I hope he and Melania recover completely.

Thinking similar. Since when can we take him at his word for anything. I'll withhold judgement for now.

It's the first step in faking his death to avoid both losing and prosecution (sarcasm)
