AAA(Act Against AIDS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to enlighten and educate the correct knowledge and awareness of HIV/AIDS in Japan. Organization was founded in 1993, and it orchestrates many participants from Entertainment industries, including Music, Game, and broad to narrow Medias.
Year by year, AAA has grown into a much larger circle, and has been in action for more than 20 years. Many musicians as well as actors/actresses, among our corporative students and schools from elementary up to universities, and also the Health Centers throughout Japan, joined our “ACT” against AIDS, and this “ACT” has now grown Nation-wide. Also, our efforts of saving HIV positive children abroad (Rumania and Laos) are ongoing and much appreciated task.
In Japan, newly reported and accumulated number of HIV and AIDS cases is increasing each year, unfortunately the only case amongst the developed nations. Our calls for much effective actions are urgent, since the rapid increase of infections among youngsters is becoming a serious threat.
Every year on December 1, we commemorate World AIDS Day by staging performances titled “AAA Concerts” in Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and other parts of Japan, with our voluntary musicians and artists dedicated to give out messages and awareness on HIV/AIDS. Proceeds from the concerts and the fund raising contributions by the participants are placed in effect, by giving helping hand to the HIV positive and AIDS patients, as well as printing posters and brochures which circulates the chain of knowledge throughout the AIDS education events held at schools and Health Centers all over Japan.
