(KTVI) - A convicted murderer has died while serving a life sentence for the 1989 killing of her teenage daughter. Maria Isa, 70, died early Wednesday morning in a Vandalia, Illinois prison.
Isa was originally sentenced to death along with her husband. Authorities say she stabbed her 16-year-old daughter for resisting the family's Islamic traditions.
The killing was caught on surveillance by the FBI who suspected Isa's husband of being involved with the Palestinian Liberation Organization.
