Hindu here. Conversion to minority religions (by law) is kinda easy on paper, but on reality isn’t. You face a big amount of societal pressure, and from the local govts as well (except if u in Bali ofc). For names, Indonesia has the most Muslims with Hindu names

Buddhists (of Theravada school) had a near parity with Hindus in Sindh at that time. But aiding Muslims in overthrow of the Hindu monarchy resulted in complete obliteration of the Sangha and their faith vanished altogether within some time in Sindh.

Add to it that there's no concept of 'kaafir' in Hinduism, there's no prescribed procedure for conversion as such, and to the best of my knowledge, neither Sanskrit nor Hindi have any term for 'religion'.
