In period crime drama Boardwalk Empire, Angela Darmody was a major character in Seasons 1 and 2. She was Jimmy Darmody’s wife, and the mother of his son, Tommy. Jimmy and Angela had a close and powerful relationship with each other, portrayed as either very in love or fighting and very far apart. Angela took care of Tommy, and tried to shelter him from Jimmy’s dark side.
In Season 1, Angela had a brief affair with Mary. When Jimmy learned of it, the two decided to stay together because he had left her for the war and she claimed she engaged in the affair with Mary only because she was lonely. Later, Angela met guest character Louise, a novelist. The two shared a kiss in Season 2, episode 8, and were both killed in Season 2, episode 10, directly after having sex.
