The purpose of philosophy is to examine the underlying assumptions of our society. People who say philosophy is useless apparently think this work is finished, and what you see now is the ideologically perfect society. I don't know about you, but this seems a bit off to me.

While the Quran is the central text in Islam, the religion would be massively different without the hadith. The hadith informs sunnis of the 5 pillars of Islam, how to pray salah, sharia law etc
