Basically the Kinhs believe goddess Durga married a Vietnamese royal. Reminds me of how Ahmaddiyas call Rama + Krishna as prophets of Allah.

Some people mistakenly think the restorations is because Vietnam is being nice. No it's because this temple was also used by Kinh and they formed a whole legend around Thiên Y Thánh Mẫu adding their own stories saying she was married to a prince from China.

The reason this temple exists today isn't because the Kinhs were being generous, but they hijacked it from the Chams and concocted a story around it. Wouldn't be surprised if they sacrifice cows here now
