I’ve been told I’m pretty by too many people to let someone calling me ugly mean anything lol

You think you can hurt my feelings? My mom’s emotionally dependent on me and my dad has never called me “con”

You think you can hurt my feelings? I’ve consistently lost “friends” every year since I was 12 because I find out they talk about me behind my back

you think you can hurt my feelings? my “friend” group left me stranded in vegas after edc 2019 because another friend flew in and they “thought I didn’t need a ride home” when they were the ones who took me there :-) twitter.com/ifibbelieveyou…

It’s childish to view someone with the opposite views as “evil” as a cop-out.
Do you really think that half of the country is evil? Or are you not bothering to understand their political views?

I’ve been typing so much in a caffeinated state lmao someone stop me it’s literally 8 AM n I pulled an all nighter for no goddamn reason
TLDR: I went through half a decade of identity crisis because I was jealous Filipinx Americans got a whole bunch of flag merch to rep their pride and all Vietnamese Americans got are those damn “VIETNAMESE” crewnecks with the I AM in red lmao

What pulls me out of my self doubt is remembering I’m also proud to be an American even if I don’t align myself with that flag’s own stars and stripes because it also represents a lot of pride and pain for many Americans. My patriotism for my countries are in my action, not flags

Both flags represent a lot of pride and pain for a lot of Vietnamese people and yet nothing to me. I’m extremely proud to be Vietnamese, but honestly I sometimes question my pride because I’m unable to align myself with neither star nor stripes.

Being presented ideas that everyone seemed to believe in all their lives was weird considering I was already 14-16. I was questioning myself and my experiences. Was Vietnam as bad as people say it is? Is America really a blessing compared to VN? Which VN flag do I rep?

I’m glad that while I was taught about the VN war Junior year, my teacher emphasized that the US intervened for control disguised as freedom and democracy. That being said, two other teachers really tried to hammer home “communism is evil” sophomore year though lol

I knew about the effects of the VN war before I knew about the war itself. I grew up visiting orphanages for children specifically affected by Agent Orange before even learning in HS about how Agent Orange was dropped by American soldiers school. It was just normal in VN.

I guess I never grasped that American propaganda because it wasn’t instilled in me since I was little like other diasporas. I didn’t have family that wanted one flag over the other, or have fought in the war. I had only known there was a war in VN and now everyone hates eachother

I went through the short period of wondering why communist states were so villanized by my high school education system. I was like, “Vietnam’s pretty lit. Idk what this Orwell dude’s talking about.” I wasn’t told “communism is evil” until high school.

Spent majority of my life afraid of being another “Missing girl/teen” headline but I’m 20 now so if anything happens to me, headlines for me would be “Missing woman” and idk how to cope with this change
