This is how illogical atheism is. They hear something negative about Islam and they will repeat it, even if it's a lie. They will not bother to fact check it. But when they hear something positive about Islam, they will deny it, even if it's a proven scientific fact.

Non sequitur. Car accidents are an effect. We try to prevent the causes of car accidents by practicing safe driving, being alert, build better roads etc. People doing bad things under the influence of alcohol is an effect. The Sharia prevents the cause of it by banning alcohol.

Most of the Syariah offences are not even real crimes, e.g. drinking, khalwat (close proximity), extramarital sex, not attending Friday prayer, not observing Ramadan, etc. Sins should be purely between the individual and god, and not subject to worldly punishments.
