The Montagnard are indigenous peoples of the Central Highlands of Vietnam. The French term Montagnard means "people of the mountain" and is a carryover from the French protectorate period in Vietnam. In Vietnamese, they are known by the term người Thượng (Highlanders)

We're still in the dark as to the origin of the outbreak in Da Nang, it seems that all the Chinese illegals found have tested negative so far. Only foreigner to test positive to date is an American.

I wouldn't necessarily say it is caste system that prevented/promoted conversions. If you see Sindh, most converts there were Buddhists who did after the sangha collapsed.

I don't agree with Sanjeev that conversions to Islam were due to caste. Most conversions occurred due to economic coercion or due to Jihadi attacks. And Sanjeev repeating Jihadi-EJ propaganda that conversions to Islam were due to casteism are nothing but mischievous propaganda.

It has to do with Vietnam's navy being weaker than Indonesia's, not anything else. Vietnam's navy wouldn't dare engage the Indonesian one because they would be sunk if they tried to support their illegal fishers.
