Otaku (and, I assume, their weeb counterparts) don’t understand the difference between a depiction of sensuality between two people and parading hyper-sexualized depictions of women in the public sphere. Not that we expected them to.

When you get in a Konbini, the magazines rack is full of cover with young women almost naked. But never seen man in swimsuit on the cover of Shojo magazine. Not very balanced.

The 2nd thing looks like a magazine talking about love and sex topics like... either on a documentary PoV or straight R-18 magazine for "pleasure". The first was indeed out of place because it was for blood donation iirc. I'll still give a try to the Uzaki anime one day I guess.

An-an is a women’s advice, health and general interest magazine, sort of like Cosmopolitan. They have some variation of a “love and sex” issue pretty regularly.

also, like one is clearly aimed at titillating men by showing them an unrealistic depiction of a woman that they then expect real women to live up to, and the other titillates women by showing them........an actual guy. like these are not the same.

as well, anan sex issues, or at least the one i have, are pretty tame, especially compared to most pictures of uzaki-chan.

I see a lot of problematic stuff in Japan, but Uzaki-chan is still something where the alledged problem escapas me. Reading the Manga I feel rather than a littoe sexualisation her manipulating ans almost abusing actions deserve a Spotlight.

Uzaki, and many anime/manga oriented things like it are dishonest about what they are; in a way that is meant to manipulate you into thinking it's normal by not being obviously sexual. Plus, while Anan is sexual it has actual tact, which weebs have no understand of.

I have two different issues of this magazine and they only do the sex edition once a year. Some of the content is kind of based on sexist bs, but it's also educational and very sex positive.
