I am in this group in Facebook and the parents are still keeping everyone in isolation. One mom kicked her 18 yr old out because they wanted to see friends. Mom claimed it was to protect younger siblings. Many people are still operating like it is March 20.
Was the mental illness first or the lockdown? Or the lockdown turned into mental illness? Either way, very sad that people would do this to themselves. Life goes on around them. An absolute disservice to any kids they have...fear trumps rational thinking.
this is like the pandemic version of those “my 5yo daughter just said [brilliant statement that reflects my politics perfectly]” tweets that are definitely real and everyone believes.
The media is full of malAdjUstEd people who'd rather sensationalize a "big story" than live actual lives. As someone who's played hoops 20+ times, gone to the beach at least a dozen, attended 4 IndyCar races and done a Milwaukee bar crawl, I can't believe I was ever part of it.
The lockdowns have truly broken a significant portion of the population. It would be worthy of sympathy if these people weren't so determined to drag the rest of us into their internal hell.

You have to think that some of these power hungry gov officials are licking their chops at a future “climate crisis” and what draconian edicts they can “executive order” on people
If you have ever read novels from Isaac Asimov, these people would be part of the Spacer society. They were so afraid of germs that they eventually devolved into hermits with robots doing all their chores. No human contact allowed. Their society ended with a whimper.
and people like her. Clearly there is an underlying mental health issue that is being “inflamed” by the news, that ironically she is part of. Many like her will need help adjusting to life after this. #Empathy
Yes, maybe. When this all started, my thought was that people have watched waaaaayyyyy too many zombie movies. Also Contagion. Got everyone primed to react to the plague.
My aunt and uncle haven’t left their house during this entire thing. They have groceries left on their doorstep and everything. Literally all they watch all day is CNN. It’s quite sad.
My parents are 89 and 85, they take a drive almost every day to the water sit by the docks, and buy clam cakes and chowder. Had lunch with them the other day at pizzeria Uno. They refuse to live in fear and don't believe all the MSM hype. Mom had polio, dad scarlet fever.
I’ve gone out almost every single day since this started. As soon as I was allowed, I ate in restaurants, went to the mall, went on vacation. Daughter got Covid (26), I went to visit her 10 days later (I’m 54). No one else got sick, her infant child, BF, me. Rarely wear a mask.
