The basic fact that seems to be often forgotten is that the Khmer Rouge kept attacking Vietnamese border tows & villages. They were warned to stop, they didn't & actually did a big massacre of Vietnamese villagers, after which, Vietnam invaded as any sane country would do.

Cham king Po Klong Garai belonged to this ethnicity. Some assume he is same as king Jaya Indravarman IV. The Po Klong Garai Shiva temple was built in his honour

Btw, only some Hans in Southern China eat those things, habit they picked up from Yue.
