[Main theme] Community, public transport, industrial heritage
[Main contents] We will examine the transition and current status of public transport in the local community from the perspective of geography and history. In classes and seminars, we will learn about traffic development and the relationship between industry and economy while repeating familiar case studies. Since 2014, when “Tomioka Silk Mill and Silk Industry Heritage Group” has been registered as a World Heritage Site, we will study the trends of Tomioka Silk Mill visitors and other industrial heritage sites in Gunma Prefecture, and will be scattered throughout the prefecture. Surveys and proposals for revitalizing industrial heritage, which is related to promoting the use of public transportation.
